Art Capital 2026 at Grand Palais: Interpreting the Light and Shadows of the Island

Art Capital 2026 at Grand Palais: Interpreting the Light and Shadows of the Island

This February, the glass dome of the Grand Palais once again welcomes a premier art event. Built for the 1900 World Expo, this architectural marvel weaves together Classicism and Art Nouveau, standing as a sanctuary for art across the centuries. Within this historic venue that once hosted the likes of Van Gogh, Matisse, and Picasso, LEXPO collaborates with three artists to present "Resonances of the Soul: Brushstrokes of Life from Taiwan," an exhibition that fosters a deep dialogue regarding the strokes of existence.

For LEXPO, artistic creation has always been a unique way for individuals to converse with the world. Since its inception in 2020, the organization has been dedicated to building bridges to the international stage, assisting creators in overcoming linguistic and cultural barriers to be seen in the global market. The three featured artists offer distinct perspectives, translating inner realizations into sophisticated visual narratives.

CHEN YEN JU, with a profound theological background, grants the canvas a sacred interpretation filled with radiance. In the work "Yen-ju et l'éléphant," he employs brilliant mosaic-like details to capture the joy of nature, stitching sacred emotions into pulsating colors.

SARENA LO showcases art as a healing force. Her work "Là où le vent se repose" utilizes layers of oil paint to recreate the stillness of time on forest paths, guiding viewers to rediscover a long-lost tranquility amidst the bustling Salon.

Meanwhile, CRAFTIRISY combines Western calligraphy with abstract art, ensuring that "writing" is no longer merely a carrier of text. In the "STAR" series, she wields her brush with energetic gestures, transforming ancient traditions into celestial rhythms that connect historical depth with contemporary sensory experiences.

This exhibition will officially open on February 12 at the Grand Palais.
