[Exhibition Review] BANK ART FAIR Summer Seoul | Innocence of Art Awakened by Playfulness and Healing

This year, LEXPO led Taiwanese artists to present works under the curatorial theme of playfulness, creativity, imagination, and healing. The aim was not merely to show cuteness or lightness, but to respond to the emotional stress and spiritual fatigue that individuals face in today’s rapidly changing society. The childlike elements in these works are genuine outlets of emotion and gentle yet determined responses from the artists to the world.

Growing up within Taiwan’s diverse culture and complex history, the artists are accustomed to viewing the world through multiple languages and perspectives. Their creations weave together Eastern and Western visual vocabularies, moving between folk beliefs and pop culture, naturally developing a language that is both locally rooted and globally resonant. With this cultural foundation, they excel at transforming personal memories and emotions into images and characters filled with healing power.

15 exhibiting artists:

Cora /Healing her inner feelings in gentle strokes, embracing her unspeakable self with creativity is her way of learning to love herself.

Yen-Hui Chen /She specializes in oil painting depicting female emotion and natural tranquility. She was awarded the WAA Woman Art Award for expressing the softness and power of deep emotions for her intuitive creations.

KUO3 /Walking the international art scene with a vivid personal style, her work has covered Venice, Singapore, Sydney and more. Creativity is her language of conversation with the world.

Karen Yao-Chun Chiu /To keep your daughter creative, write life's journey with a real pen and transmit love and strength.

Yunting /
A former national athlete, using the ocean as an emotional outlet, records life's lows and self-healing processes through mobile animation.

Nana Liang /Cute characters wrap pain and extend creation as a soul, creating a window of understanding and resonance between reality and fantasy.

Selena Lin /Excellent at depicting inner emotions with color and lines, art as food for the soul. Her work is full of life and depth of tranquility.

DEREX CHU /Imparting faith, care and love through inkjet painting, the work enters the countryside and the streets, believing that art is light and can illuminate every corner.

Wahaha /The artist, born as an elementary school teacher, depicts everyday fragments in children's characters, inviting viewers into a journey of conversation with themselves.

Paulina Cheung /Dedicated to the promotion of watercolor painting, specializing in the fusion of media and color expression, her works guide the viewer into a world of mental flow and emotional resonance.

Chih-Ying Chou /Specializing in dreamlike soft gray tones, it constructs a symbolic image of the subconscious that inspires the viewer to resonate deeply in stillness.

Sophie Wu /FULL OF CURIOSITY ABOUT NATURE AND WILDLIFE, INTUITIVE CREATIVITY COMBINES A VARIETY OF MEDIA TO SHOWCASE THE CREATIVE ENERGY OF LIFE'S INSTINCTS.

MIROOKO /Influenced by the Japanese ultra-flat style, exploring social marginality and class distance, the work conveys the concept of “everyone deserves to be understood and accepted”.

DOYA /Dream Recorder, building a blue subconscious world with deep emotional textures, invites viewers to touch the boundaries between dream and reality on the screen.

Mr. Likey /Influenced by the American trend culture, blending Asian and Western pop symbols and exploring identity and cross-cultural links, the work has generated a warm response in Hong Kong.

The exhibition brought visual richness and delight, while also offering a collective dialogue on inner repair and emotional reconstruction. We hope audiences could rediscover long-lost simplicity, courage, and curiosity through these playful characters and colors, and join Taiwanese creators in reclaiming creativity and inner freedom. This embodies LEXPO’s mission: in an era of cultural fluidity, to return art to the individual, making it a place of healing and imagination for all.

LEXPO has long focused on combining art with branding and lifestyle aesthetics, expanding opportunities for creators through international art fairs and cross-disciplinary collaborations.
