LEXPO Partners with Nine Taiwanese Artists for ART INTERNATIONAL ZURICH 2026

LEXPO, an international exhibition platform dedicated to promoting cultural exchange between Asia and Europe, will lead nine Taiwanese artists to participate in the 28th ART INTERNATIONAL ZURICH 2026, Switzerland's longest-running art fair, from May 8 to 10, 2026. This exhibition focuses on multiculturalism and mixed-media art creation, showcasing how Taiwanese artists integrate Eastern cultural heritage with contemporary thought to engage in dialogue with the world.

Zurich Exhibition Success: Strong Sales on Opening Day

This dedication was richly rewarded on the opening day of the Zurich fair. Nearly ten artworks, including originals and prints, were successfully sold on the first day. For Taiwanese artists, this is tangible international recognition and encouragement, proving that even amidst turbulent times, the vitality of Taiwanese creativity can still resonate with international buyers. The LEXPO booth brought together nine diverse Taiwanese artists, showcasing the profound narrative capabilities of Taiwan's art scene. Special thanks to the Annanasli Swiss-Taiwanese Pineapple Cultural Association for their assistance in promotion and inviting guests, and to Ambassador Wang Sze-wei (pictured below with artworks at the venue) and Secretary Yang Bo-chih from the Taipei Cultural and Economic Delegation in Switzerland for attending the exhibition and supporting the Taiwanese artists.

The Collision of Contemporary Language and Emotional Narrative

At this exhibition, LEXPO presented works spanning oil painting, acrylic, Ebru marbling, and mixed media, showcasing the artists' profound interpretations of life and nature.

  • Paulina Cheung: Exhibited Ebru marbling works "Blue Ocean" and "Echo of One." Utilizing the irreplicable nature of Ebru art, she transforms seahorses and schools of fish into symbols of vitality, and through flowing textures, explores the resonance of human emotions and the "eye" of inner awareness.

  • Hsunhui Huang: Exhibited the oil painting series "Missing Myself." She skillfully combines human figures with marine life imagery, exploring the truth and beauty of the primal self through serene underwater scenes. The works convey a profound love for embracing oneself and accepting the coexistence of the strange, absurd, and beautiful in life.

  • Sarena Lo: Her works "Cat's Spring Adventure" and "Quietly Accompanying You" showcase delicate acrylic brushstrokes. She captures spring scenes of pink cherry blossoms like clouds and tranquil moments under the afternoon glow, creating a healing atmosphere where time gently flows backward through the companionship of a woman and a cat.

  • Yen Hui Chen: Delineates an inner ideal realm with oil paintings "Moon Moving, Flower Shadows" and "Moon White, Wind Clear." She uses alternating cool and warm tones to depict the golden light on the lake and the tranquil moonlight. Amidst the thickly layered flower shadows, she symbolizes self-introspection in nature and the pursuit of hope.

  • Karen Yao-Chun Chiu: Exhibited four oil paintings. In addition to "Journey" and "Comfort Zone," which explore urban alienation and self-improvement, another series, "Go On An Adventure" and "Mutual Gaze," uses the perspective of a panda girl and a puppy to subvert the subjectivity of "seeing," examining how environments created by adults construct the initial contours of the world in a child's eyes.

  • Sophie Wu: Her mixed-media works "Forest in the daytime" and "Forest in the nighttime" boldly experiment with combining acrylics and different mediums. The pieces precisely capture the mysterious, richly layered, and varied visual language of the forest as day turns into night.

  • Chen Yen Ju: In "Orchid Pavilion Gathering," he reinterprets traditional Chinese freehand painting with Western acrylics, paying homage to classical literature's lament on the impermanence of life. "Bangkok Sky" records the pulsating life full of light refraction amidst the sunset over Bangkok's canals and urban chaos.

  • Lu-Hsueh Yao: Exhibited the Eden series "Garden of Eden - Winter is Coming" and "Garden of Eden - Bubbles Morning." Deeply influenced by the abundant flowers of tropical islands, the works transform the rhythmic colors of changing seasons into a sensory feast on canvas, presenting an Eden where life and nature intertwine.

  • Cecily Cheng: Exhibited mixed-media works "Dream-Weaving Flower Scales" and "Gentle in Full Bloom." She transforms flowers blooming from tail fins into a firm yet gentle power. Through her works, she creates a spiritual space for herself that doesn't need to be perfect but can quietly blossom, conveying a profound feminine tenderness.

Art Knows No Borders, Taiwan Continues to Shine

Since its establishment in 2020, LEXPO has been dedicated to serving as a bridge for cultural exchange between Asia and Europe. The team's role extends beyond agency; they are a strong support system for creators. Facing an increasingly complex global environment, they will continue to optimize exhibition execution, ensuring that every potential Taiwanese artist can leverage the power of art beyond language and borders on the international stage. They bear all uncertainty costs for artists and provide "optimal solutions" including logistics integration and marketing planning. Through a dual online and offline strategy, they continuously seek global exposure opportunities for Taiwanese art.
